There are not many positives about the current covid pandemic. I, like many other parents, tried to navigate both work and family during a time when kids were home all day and activities were shuttered. After months of being stuck at home the kids finally had had enough of the electronics and trampoline. I was sick of hearing about how "bored" they were, so I took it upon myself to tinker in the garage.
Both of my children play lacrosse and I didnt want them inside all day long. The bounce back only goes so far and playing catch wasn't cutting it. As a way to get them outside and I decided to incorporate an activity they both enjoy into something new and exciting. It started off with a prototype that they seemed to like but was far from portable. The prototype took up too much room in the garage and leaving it outside to rot wasn't the answer. After more tinkering and four more variations we finally came up with the original cornhole lacrosse game. I finally found the solution to the boredom that I so desperately was looking for.
The game itself was never intended to be sold or to start a new business, however, after taking it on numerous vacations and tournaments I had too many inquiries to not try. Now after a few years of second guessing myself and a total lack of confidence I have finally gone live. We now have four different board variations based on feedback from fellow parents and lacrosse coaches. To go along with the boards we are now offering apparel that is just a little different from what you typically find at all of those lacrosse tournaments.
The end goal is to make lacrosse more available to players of all skill level. Now it isn't about playing on the club team. It is about getting out with friends and family in the backyard, beach, picnic, or park and playing a friendly game that everyone can enjoy.
